Wow, I can't believe it! Back to school already, the summer just flew by. You can tell by the pics that 3of our 4 children were happy about school, but Zoe being herself was not quite so happy. Taysom and Addison were really excited to start 6th and 5th grades respectively and they love their teachers, classes and everything and Sawyer couldn't wait to start kindergarten. What is the deal with delaying the kindergartners a whole week! The little guys are the ones who are the most excited to start and the hardest to explain to why they aren't starting. Sawyer had his evaluation on Monday so when the 20 minutes were up and we headed home he sure thought he'd been cheated out of something. When he finally did get to attend a whole 3 hours of kindergarten he was thrilled! I have to admit I got a little teary as he trotted into his classroom with his giant backpack on ready for a new adventure and didn't even look back to check on his poor mommy! I had been teasing him for months that I wasn't going to let him go because I would miss him to much, I guess there was more truth to that than I imagined! I think it really got to me when I realized that Taysom was just in kindergarten when Sawyer was born and now look at her! She is in 6th Grade! It all flies by so fast! Lucky for us, Miss Marcee started Preschool the same day that the kindergartners began so we narrowly avoided a meltdown from Miss Zoe. She had been asking since about March when it would be her turn to go to "Freefool". She got a little quiet on the drive over though, and told me I would be "staying for the long time OK, Mommy?" and when I said no, she got even quieter. I chatted on about her being the line leader and how her friends Carson and Brynn were going to be there and all the fun she was going to have and all the while I was thinking about this being my last baby going off to school. She got out of the car and when she saw Carson, she cheered up a bit, but Miss Marcee had to prod her along to lead the class in, but when I went to pick her up she was very animated and happy! I believe we are all off to a good start!

I can't believe how big Taysom & Addi are getting. They are both so cute, of course, like the rest of your family. I know what you mean about the back to school angst for moms. I had a minor meltdown yesterday when Ryann went off to pre-school. That was unexpected, I thought I would be all about the freedom. :) I'll look forward to more posts soon...
Taysom and Addi are so dang cute! I love your first day of school descriptions!
The girls look great! Sawyer looks pretty darn cute too! I hope they are loving school this year!
